Having key elements allows to read quickly through the texts and to indicate material proper for writing, using various highlighting techniques.



Purposes and Reasons for Opening Scenes

Purposes
The purpose for an opening scene is one of the most opening part of the film. It has to engage readers while introducing the most important aspects of the story. For a good opening scene you must need a good presentation: main character, tone, world, foreshadowing, and conflict.

Reasons
The reason for an opening scene is meant to create a certain impact on the audience, perhaps to shock them, or keep them gripped, perhaps through the creation of tension. The opening scene provides the audience with a good deal of background information about what is going on, the characters, etc.


What are the similarities in the opening scenes (conventions) irrespective of genre

Similarities in opening scenes
Some similarities in all opening scenes is that, usually all opening scenes is like an introduction to the movie representing a small part of the film, that the film is going to continue. Usually all opening scenes are built like this.

Compare and Contrast Scenes

Horror- Horror films are dark films with explicit scenes. There are many jump scares in horror films. Horror films are usually a night time thing, which is because your not supposed to see the person you have terror in.

Comedy- Comedy films are usually bright films with a lot of good scenes as bright days, and making funny jokes. Some comedy's are usually mixed with drama because there basically dramas with comedy in it. 

Action - Action films are usually filled in with dangerous tough scenes. There not bright or dark because some action films can have murder and some don't have murder. Action films are basically like Wars/Guns/Cars and etc...
